1. 명칭히브리어 성경에는 첫 글자를 따서 (베레쉬드) 태초에 라고 되어있다.옛날 유대인들은 세계 창조의 책 이라고 부르기도 했다.
창세기라는 명칭은 본서 2:4의 여호와 하나님이 천지를 창조하신 때에 천지의 창조된 대략은 이러하니라 라는 말씀을 따라 지은 것이다.
