I like Dr, Ralph Winter personally. Because I agree with his smart analysis view on world mission history. He has contributed to world mission society with giving wonderful insights on missiology and pouring us passion for unreached peoples. It's the reason why I call him as an 'Apostle for Unreached Peoples'. Yes, he was called for the unreached. He is full of eagerness, passion and love for them. He also has encourged the third world missionary movement including Korean church missions that have joined to fulfill the task remaining.

He has given me a great insight on relationship between modality and sodality with writing lots of articles. I have a privilege to teach the subject of mission perspectives with using his editing book, 'Mission Perspective on World Church Movement', which is very popular among Korean youth missionary candidates. The most thing that I have been challenged by him is the unreached peoples missionary movement.

Dr. Winter has raised the issue of God's three times call. The first call was a world mission congress which was held in Edinburgh in 1910. The participants who were from Europe and modern past of America had a vision to finish world evangelization within the 20th century. The second call was Lausanne Covenant Committee which was a massive evangelical circle union against liberal theology. It was held in 1974. All participants were evangelists from all political nations with vision of evangelizing their own countries within the 20th century. Dr. Winter, however, awakened them with a concept of 'people' through his plenary session. Since 1974 this new strategic concept has been developed in world mission society with unreached people missions approach. After all world church leaders proclaimed that 'Planting one church among a people group' in Edinburgh (1980). Therefore unreached peoples movement was a main stream of last 25 year world missionary movement.

Entering into the 21st century, world mission society think about clarifing the task remaining again and finding new paradigm to fulfill the task. Dr. Winter and some other leaders tried to find new way to meet the need of the 21st century mission fields, which was a beginning of finding the 3rd call from God. Frontier mission is good clue for this.

They have recognized that organizing a new global network of world mission structures was very essential to meet the newly needs. They have agreed that world mission society have to overcome unnecessary investments in same areas, and need fantastic partnership with sharing burdens. Frontier mission needs to be understood with various of views including unreached peoples and new insights on interpretation of the Bible. Dr. Winter finally asked mission leaders to come to Amsterdam in 2005 for this task. All participant agreed to launch a network called "GNMS(Global Network of Mission Structures)". Korean church responds firstly to vitalize this network, and a Korean mission leaders forum will be held on November with this issue.

As God also has prepared Dr. John Kim for fertilizing frontier mission movement, and with his request KWMA held a Frontier Mission seminar beginning of this year in Seoul. Korea Frontier Mission Network was organized after that seminar. This network has decided to publish the 'Korean Journal of Frontier Missions' with the Mission Times under partnership of Int'l Journal of Frontier Mission.

I think that above mentioned events are the process of Korean response to the 3rd Call. Now Korean mission society has to stand up to be one of the main roll players for the 21st century missionary movements.*
