 개역개정 물은 예수 그리스도께서 부활하심으로 말미암아 이제 너희를 구원하는 표니 곧 세례라 이는 육체의 더러운 것을 제하여 버림이 아니요 하나님을 향한 선한 양심의 간구니라
 KJV The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

 공동번역 그것은 오늘날 여러분에게 구원을 가져다 주는 세례를 미리 보여 준 것입니다. 세례는 몸에서 더러운 때를 벗기는 것이 아니라 깨끗한 양심으로 살겠다고 하느님께 서약을 하는 것이며 예수 그리스도의 부활로써 이루어지는 것입니다.
 북한성경 그것은 오늘날 여러분에게 구원을 가져다 주는 세례를 미리 보여준 것입니다. 세례는 몸에서 더러운 때를 벗기는 것이 아니라 깨끗한 량심으로 살겠다고 하느님께 서약을 하는 것이며 예수 그리스도의 부활로서 이루어지는 것입니다.
